"Freshman" is a photo I took in Fall of 2003. In our Writing 100 class for the Artists in Society Community, our professor Dr. Thomas Cobb asked us if anything could be art. We replied maybe, but he insisted yes. So he said to bring in something that we thought was art. That night I took about a dozen pictures. What stood out to me was this one, and still remains my most favorite picture I have ever taken. It is outside in the courtyard of our dorm. I sat on the ground, leaned back, and framed it up. What I love is how everything outside is so brown, yellow, and orange. But inside is such a bright and bold blue. It's kind of refreshing.
