For Film History I my professor had some of us edit D.W. Griffith's short An Awful Moment, for the only print known is the unedited footage that was copyrighted at the Library of Congress in 1908. Our assignement was to edit the short how we thought Griffith would have, write down our process in an essay, and why we made our decisions.
